Time and How We Experience It
The name Art for Time was born decades ago because my artwork explored various aspects of the deeply fascinating concept of time, and I have since noticed this thread throughout my study of creativity and wellness, too.
Time and how we experience it has been an important theme as a teacher guiding students through the creative process, in my support of youth development and learning, and throughout my studies of expressive arts, mental health, Focusing, creativity, and well-being.
The Art for Time practice is about pausing, noticing, being curious, finding our way, and using the process of creative expression to better understand ourselves, each other, and our space and time.
I love the idea that even though creating art takes time, it is also true that creating art gives time. Perhaps when we make time for art, we also make art for time.
“Perhaps when we make time for art, we also make art for time.”
